Spirited Away
If you haven't seen this movie, it comes out on Tuesday, so drop everything, and rent it at the nearest blockbuster, or in my case, your neighborhood friendly mom n pop video world. This movie was so dope that I wanna name my kids Sen and Haku now.. I would name my daughter Chihiro, but I have a friend named Chihiro, and that would be weird. Anywho.. I was planning for my next DVD purchase to be Harry Potter and the Crazy Secret Chamber of Hot Jail Bait Evil Boy, (oh my god, Tom Riddle is hot.. but that's gross cuz I'm sure he's like, 14... and same thing with Oliver Wood..) but now mos def it has to be Spirited Away. I almost cried in that movie cuz it was just so rad... I almost peed my pants too, and not just cuz I was filled to the rim with Mr. Pibb. Hayao Miyazaki is the man, man. I thought ol boy did Graveyard of the Fireflies, but I guess he just worked on other projects with the dude that wrote it. Oh and if you haven't seen that, you HAVE to see it. I did cry when I saw that one.. twice... in class. So anywho, Eric tells me that you can get this DVD bundle thingy for like 60 bones, whick include Spirtied Away, Laputa, and Kiki something something, and get Mononoke for free fifty. I sooo wanna do that, cuz Mononoke was DOPE! It was even doper when I saw it translated into English, so I could actually understand what was goin on.
Rurouni Kenshin vs. Ranma: Ultimate Battle
Rurouni Kenshin is on cartoon network now. How strange... I remember when I came back from Japan, (anime was hella popular by then) and I'd ask a dude like at sun coast if they had any Kenshin, and he was all like "huuuuuuh?!" and I was all like "Kenshin! the battousai, man!" and he was all "huuuuuuuh?!" So I think that is pretty weird that it's popular enough to be on cartoon network... I wonder if the intro song is still gonna be the Judy and Mary song. sweeeet. So anyway.. I've been downloading hella Kenshin off Kazaa, and the quality is questionable, but it satiates my kenshin appetite. Oh man, Kenshin used to be my fav anime series (also kureon shinchan, which I cannot find ANYWHERE) but has taken a back seat to Ranma for the past few months. But now I have mega conflict over which should be placed as my number one seed. Okay, Ranma is hella funny, and the characters are sooooooooo dope, but Kenshin, just himself is rad enough to take over the whole Tendo household. So like, if Ranma and Kenshin battled, Kenshin would SOOO wail on Ranma like it was real ultimate power. Ranma isn't even a master at the Kenpo Anything Goes style (yet), but Kenshin is such a master of the Hiten Mitsurugi Ryu fighting style. Like the only dude that fuct him up (as far as I know) was that one hot guy (not hot like handsome) with the burns all over his body.. but then Kenshin ended up kicking his ass after visions of Kaoru floated in his head... awww..... So I dunno man, I wanna marry em both.
